3 Cleaning Cloths Put to the Test: Which One's Actually Worth Buying?
Over the years, I've tried just about everything to keep my shower screen, mirrors and kitchen worktops looking spotless. Nothing ever seemed to work for long.
No matter what I used, those annoying streaks and water marks would be back the very next day.
So I decided to buy three of the most popular cleaning cloths and put them through their paces around my home. And after testing them properly, I found one clear favourite.

Finally, a Streak-Free Home โ How I Found the Right Cleaning Cloth
I'd honestly reached the end of my tether.
My shower screen was covered in cloudy marks, the bathroom mirrors were constantly streaky, and the kitchen worktops never looked properly clean, no matter how much effort I put in.
Ordinary cleaning cloths from the supermarket were hopeless.
They were too thin, left bits of fluff everywhere and somehow managed to make everything look worse.
I was fed up. All that scrubbing, cleaning sprays with overpowering smells, and still no decent results.
Then one evening, after a particularly long day, I'd had enough.
We had friends coming round, and all I wanted was a clean bathroom so I could put my feet up afterwards. But even after spending ten minutes wiping down the shower screen, it still looked awful.
I was so frustrated I could have cried.
A few days later, a friend suggested something.
I was sceptical, to say the least. But I was also thoroughly fed up with wasting time and money on products that didn't deliver.
So I did a bit of research online and ordered three of the most talked-about cleaning cloths:
- BeaverCloth
- Supermarket Cloth
- Magic Wipe
There were two things I wanted to find out:
- Which cloth actually makes a noticeable difference?
- Which one stands up to everyday cleaning?
I used all three around the house for 30 days, tackling everything from the bathroom and kitchen to the windows and car.
And I have to say, the difference was remarkable.
Here's what I genuinely thought of each one.
3 Cleaning Cloths, 1 Clear Favourite My Personal Review After 30 Days
1 BeaverCloth โ My Favourite After 30 Days
I still remember the first time I used BeaverCloth on my shower screen.
Those stubborn streaks had been driving me round the bend. I'd tried all sorts of cleaning sprays, but nothing seemed to leave the glass properly clear.
Then I gave BeaverCloth a go.
One quick wipe and I could see the difference straight away.
No smears, no messing about, just lovely clear glass in seconds. For once, the cloth seemed to be doing the hard work rather than me.
What impressed me most?
I managed to finish the cleaning in about half the time, and my mirrors and taps actually sparkled without needing any chemical cleaning sprays.
And even after a week, the bathroom still looked fresh.
No more constantly scrubbing the same areas. No more frustration.
Windows, tiles, kitchen worktops โ everything looked beautifully clean.
The generous XXL size made it easy to cover larger surfaces, while the dense microfibre material absorbed water and lifted grime incredibly well.
Whether I was cleaning the bathroom, wiping down the kitchen or tackling the windows, it gave me a lovely streak-free finish.
Even on warmer days, when water marks can be particularly annoying, it absorbed the moisture rather than simply pushing it around.
These days, I reach for BeaverCloth almost every day โ for the bathroom, kitchen and even the car.
For me, there's no contest. BeaverCloth is my personal favourite.
If you'd like to spend less time cleaning and get sparkling results without relying on sprays, it's well worth trying.
โ ๏ธ When I placed my order, BeaverCloth had a Bundle & Save offer running, so I picked up a few extras. Some for the bathroom, one for the kitchen and a spare to keep in the car.
Just a heads-up: the popular bundles can sell out quickly. Some offers were already unavailable when I ordered.
2 Supermarket Cloth โ Does the Job, But Nothing Special
The ordinary supermarket cloth wasn't a complete disappointment, but it certainly didn't impress me either.
The material felt reasonably good, and it was fine for basic cleaning. But compared with BeaverCloth, it simply wasn't as effective.
For little jobs around the kitchen or a quick wipe of the worktop, it was perfectly adequate.
But when it came to bigger jobs, particularly the shower screen and bathroom mirrors, things became frustrating.
I needed extra cleaning spray to shift stubborn marks, and even then, the cloth often left faint streaks behind.
After a few trips through the washing machine, it also started looking rather worn and didn't seem to pick up dirt as effectively.
I found myself putting in more effort just to achieve the same results that BeaverCloth seemed to deliver straight away.
For the occasional small cleaning job, it's probably fine.
But if you want something dependable for regular cleaning around the house, I wouldn't make it my first choice.
CHECK AVAILABILITY HERE โค3 Magic Wipe โ Not Awful, But Hardly a Long-Term Solution
At first glance, Magic Wipe seemed perfectly reasonable.
It was lightweight, inexpensive and easy to pick up in a multipack. For a quick clean, I thought it might do the trick.
But after just a few days of proper use, I started having doubts.
On mirrors and glass, it often seemed to push water around rather than absorb it properly, leaving marks behind.
It never really felt as though it was doing the job.
Worse still, after a couple of washes, it started shedding little fibres, which made freshly cleaned surfaces look messy again.
Within a week, the cloth had already begun losing its shape and effectiveness.
For wiping up the odd little spill, it might be acceptable.
But for everyday cleaning, I simply didn't find it reliable or durable enough.
Perhaps it's worth keeping as a cheap spare in the utility room, but it certainly wouldn't be my choice for regular household cleaning.

Why Does GSM (Grams per Square Metre) Matter?
When comparing microfibre cleaning cloths, one useful thing to look at is their GSM rating.
GSM stands for grams per square metre and tells you how much the fabric weighs for its size.
BeaverCloth: Approximately 600 GSM. Its thick, dense microfibre material is designed to absorb plenty of water and lift dirt effectively in a single wipe.
Supermarket Cloth & Magic Wipe: Around 200โ300 GSM in this comparison. These thinner cloths generally hold less moisture and, in my experience, tended to spread water around rather than absorb it properly.
GSM isn't the only thing that determines how well a cloth cleans, but it certainly helps explain why BeaverCloth feels noticeably thicker and more substantial.

My shower glass has never looked cleaner.
Wiped the whole glass down with just water and one cloth and it looked brand new.
Best cleaning product I've ever purchased.
My Final Verdict How One Cloth Finally Took the Hassle Out of Cleaning
After years of scrubbing, spending a small fortune on cleaning sprays and getting thoroughly fed up with streaky shower screens and cloudy mirrors, I've finally found a cloth that makes a genuine difference.
BeaverCloth is easily my favourite.
From the very first wipe, I could see why. It was quick, easy to use and left the glass beautifully clear without needing chemical cleaning sprays.
And after just a few days, something happened that I'd almost given up hoping for.
My bathroom actually stayed looking clean.
No more constantly going over the same areas. No more annoying streaks appearing again the next day.
For once, I could enjoy a lovely clean home without feeling as though I was forever cleaning it.
Compared with the other two cloths, BeaverCloth wasn't just easier to use. In my experience, it was noticeably more effective too.
For me, it's one of the best changes I've made to my cleaning routine in years.
And the best bit? You can give it a go with a 90-day money-back guarantee and free delivery across the UK.
โ ๏ธ Important: Popular Bundles Can Sell Out Quickly
When I ordered my BeaverCloths, I was lucky enough to get the six-cloth bundle while it was still available. A few days later, it was almost sold out, with only individual cloths left.
If you're after the best value, it's worth checking which bundles are currently available.
There are some excellent Bundle & Save offers, and it's easy to see why the popular ones get snapped up.
I'd happily recommend giving BeaverCloth a try. My bathroom looks lovely, the mirrors are sparkling and the glass is finally streak-free, all without endless scrubbing or cupboards full of cleaning sprays.
And if you're anything like me, you'll wonder why you didn't try it sooner.
